➤ Weizugruberalm

Directly from the Ebnerhof you can reach the Weizgruber-Alm (hiking trail 28A) in 2 to 2.5 hours (approx. 700 vertical meters).

➤  Ploner Alm

Start at the Weger Mühlen bus stop in Selva di Dentro/Innermühlwald (location), turn left over the bridge and follow the signs to the Rastl waterfalls. Suitable for families, hikers and cyclists. Good typical food.
400m elevation gain, 3.5km distance, 1 hour walking / open from Thursday to Sunday - from June to November.

➤  Edelrauthütte

Starting point: Neves Lake above Lappach. Trail no. 26 starts on the opposite western shore. In a steady ascent you reach the modern and newly built Edelrauthütte in about 2 hours.

For the surefooted, the ascent to the Napfspitze is worthwhile - from the hut 345 vertical meters (Attention - partly exposed).

➤  Chemnitzerhütte

Starting point: Neves Lake above Lappach. From the north shore of the lake, trail no. 24 first leads eastward steep through the forest up to the tree line and then less steep to the hut. Approx. 1.5 hours and 560 vertical meters.

➤  Altavia Neves

The high-altitude hike leads through the unique glacier landscape of the Zillertal Alps, under the spell of rushing glacial streams. From the Neves lake it goes up the valley to the rustic Edelrauthütte at the Eisbruggjoch. There begins the actual “Altavia”, which leads to the Chemnitzer Hütte before descending again to the lake. With a distance of approx. 18 km and 1,050 vertical meters, the tour is not to be underestimated.

➤ Seebergseen 

The Seeberg Lakes, near Lappach, are among the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Ahrntal Valley. A beautiful and solitary hike from Zösenberg leads to these sparkling natural beauties.

Starting from the parking lot of the Bergmeisteralm, follow trail No. 6 through alpine meadows to the Seebergsee lake (about 700 vertical meters and 7.5 km total trail length). The Bergmeisteralm and also the Mair am Tinkhof Alm, located a little further into the Zösental, are usually open.

➤  Wengsee with Obermair-Alm

This beautiful lake is located just opposite the Mountainhouse Ebner on the other side of the valley. Start at the Asco (small factory beneath the highway) - 5 min by car from the Mountain House; there is parking over the bridge. Steeply through the forest it goes on the path No. 66 to the Wengalm (not open). From there, turn right to the Wengsee lake. From the lake you reach the Obermair-Alm (usually open) in a relatively short time. Total walking time about 4 hours with about 800 vertical meters. 

A forest path leads to the Obermair-Alm, which can also be used with a mountain bike (ideal with an e-bike, but the climb with a traditional bike is demanding in terms of fitness).

➤  Schwarzensteinhütte

Conditionally demanding climb to the modern refuge located at 2,999m. Nestled in the main alpine ridge, the hut is also the starting point for the summit ascent of the Schwarzenstein (from the hut another 1-2 hours, 300 vertical meters, glacier equipment usually required).

Shortly before the village center of St.Johann turn left in the direction of Gasthof Stallila ( at 1,472 m). There you will find a parking lot. From here you follow a small road to the Daimerhütte (at 1,862 m). From then on, continue on trail no. 23, in steep switchbacks to the Rotbachkees. Continue along the path to the end of the valley and then keep to the right. Continue over glacier slabs, secured with new footholds and wire ropes. Via this well-marked path you reach the Schwarzenstein hut. Up to the hut there are a good 1,550 vertical meters to the hut.

➤  Lenkjöchlhütte

The Lenkjöchl hut is located at the high point of one of the most beautiful circular hikes of the region. We recommend the ascent through the beautiful Windtal (starting point: parking lot Kasern to Hl. Geist - trail no. 12 to the hut). Descent through the flowery Röttal (trail no. 11), past the mining tunnels, directly to the parking lot at Kasern. Walking time to the hut about 3 hours.

➤ Hollenzalm with Hühnerspiel

This easy hike starts in St. Jakob (parking lot: Link). From there, first take trail no. 17 steeply up through the forest. Once you reach the small unpaved road, continue on trail no. 1 to the beautifully situated Hühnerspiel huts. From there you can reach the Hollenz-Alm in about 20 minutes via trail no. 1A. Descent via the small unpaved road. In total approx. 400 vertical meters and total walking time of 2-3 hours.
